The Solomon Islands Government, through their Economic Reform Unit, has approved tax refunds for payments using airtime for pension savings. This waiver allows Solomon Islanders using airtime credit to deposit savings to not have to pay 10 percent tax over that purchase. This amount will retroactively be refunded into you Save members’ accounts.

Bangkok (ESCAP news) – The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Central Bank of Samoa (CBS) launched a joint report today called Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises’ Access to Finance in Samoa. The study finds that while micro enterprise financing in Samoa is accessible to much of the population, only 50 per cent of small and medium enterprise (SMEs) have obtained commercial finance.
