The two day event will have participation by all commercial banks, the two mobile phone companies, other financial institutions, NPF, financial literacy training service providers and savings clubs. The event is to raise awareness about financial products and services available in the country, encourage public to access the various services especially the new technology based products besides developing financial literacy.
The commercial banks, mobile phone companies and financial institutions will be putting up their individual stalls and public can visit them to get information about specific products and services. Also there will be special quiz and oratory (speech) competitions for the secondary school students of Honiara based schools. Public quiz program is also planned.
The Financial Inclusion Expo is jointly organized by the NFIT and the Pacific Financial Inclusion Programme (PFIP). The PFIP is a joint Programme of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with additional funding from the Australian Government and the European Union/Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Microfinance Framework Programme (EU/ACP).
