INSURANCE is an integral part of our lives and is important for the security and protection of business and property, says BRED Bank CEO Frederic Reynaud.
At the launch of the partnership between the bank and SUN Insurance Company Ltd, Mr Reynaud said Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston had caused damage to more than 20,000 properties in Fiji.
“Insurance has been taken lightly by some of us and it is time that we stress the importance of insurance in Fiji as climate change and other hazards will continue to affect the Pacific Islands,” he said.
He said they were proud of this partnership because SUN Insurance was one of Fiji’s leading property and casualty insurer.
“SUN Insurance is a 100 per cent locally-owned insurance company and have tailored best insurance products to suit the Fijian market.
“Insurance is important in our group as we provide general and life insurance to our 36 million customers through the group’s own insurance company.
“Our group’s philosophy is ‘bankers and insurers with a different perspective’.
“We believe with our presence we have honoured our most important value — a high level of service and relationship.
“SUN Insurance shares similar values as BRED Bank and through this partnership our clients can expect outstanding service and innovative solutions.”
SUN Insurance chairman Padam Lala said many asked them the reason they focused so much on technology and innovation.
“Our simple answer is Fiji is our only home and we are passionate in our vision that Fijians are delivered insurance services of international standards. So to BRED Bank, be rest assured from the board of SUN that our exec team will be working with you very closely in taking the concept of bancassurance (bank assurance) in Fiji to a new level,” he said.
