Iris is the Financial Inclusion Coordinator overseeing activities of the Pacific financial inclusion Programme (PFIP) in Apia, Samoa. She supports efforts towards the development of digital financial channels and services, consumer empowerment and promotion of an enabling regulatory and policy environment through engaging with policymakers in Samoa.
Prior to her role with PFIP, Iris worked in the Telecommunication-Mobile money sector with Airtel Uganda managing relationships with corporate clients and development partners, with a particular focus on holistic mobile money product offerings. These included bill payments, mobile banking, bulk payments, super agency and merchant payments.
She has extensive experience developing functional eco-systems by leveraging digital financial services to cater to rural and low-income segments of the population through managing projects such as digitisation of humanitarian aid payments for refugees and various agricultural value chains. Iris holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
